Spring Fling 2009

The 2009 Spring Fling is history.  72 cars from all over the Southeast U.S. gathered at Lee Vause Park to do what “car” people do, kick back, relax, and enjoy each others hard work.  The local chapter of the Vietnam Veterans provided hamburgers and Bradley’s Country Sausage all day long.  The Royal Ambassadors kept everyone supplied with cold drinks.  Twenty plus classes had entries.  Again this year we provided plexi-glass plaques with a photo of each owners car.  The participants seem to appreciate the gesture. Here’s an irony.  For the last four years the person handling the 50/50 sales has been Clayton Weaver, and I can’t remember him winning anything.  All that changed on Saturday.  Clayton won $210 as half of the 50/50, and also won the “Best of Show” trophy which came with another $50.  Next year we will prepare for 100 cars and are looking to add some exciting vendors.  Thank you all for your help in making this the best Spring Fling ever.
